Avatars

i was thinking we could have avatars that you can buy clothes and accessories for to show what you look like. (and how rich you are $$$) i would have to make it of course.

ok. :3 ill try to figure out how to do that with flash so i can have it embedded on the forum. and yes, i mean avatars like on xbox, yahoo, etc. just a little person to represent you.

so i was thinking i could have a link at the top ofthe forum that goes to an html page with the avatar editor embedded there. after you make/edit your avatar it would give you a code that you put into a text field on your profile, which would display your avatar.
im not quite sure how the displaying part would work, but ill figure that out when i get to it.
edit: html does not work on profiles, so maybe we will need an avatar section. :/

Couldn't we have a BBCode page instead of HTML? Or maybe you could poke around the admin panel and make HTML allowable on profiles... idk i'm not the techy one, remember? :p

i turned on html for posts but i dont think html is allowed for profiles. >_> i could look again but i didnt find any html profile settings.

forumotion allows minimal customization to what the forum can do. if we created a new forum on a better host such as ipbfree it is likely that we could have avatars in profiles. but, we might need someone who knows html. (i dont know html) if not, we can still have an avatar section here.

Yeah, this is a quandery... but you know, if worst comes to worst, we'll just scrap the idea of customizable avatars. I know plenty of forums that I'm on that don't have them and everybody seems fine without them.

but that would make cld unique, wouldnt it? if we have something here that other places dont have, we could get more popularity.
