Three

Three

If you where on this earth,
to do but three small things,
I know what I'd tell you to do,
and this is how it rings,
I'd tell you to walk barefoot,
on a powdery dusting of snow,
feel how it crunches and melts away,
under your quickly numbing toe,
I'd tell you to sit on a rock,
down by the ocean side,
feel the salt, the wind, the spray,
and watch the rising tide,
I'd tell you to catch an autumn leaf,
and marvel at it's color,
see it twirling as it falls,
and run and catch another,
if you could do but three small things,
in your time on this sweet earth,
those are the things I'd say to do,
I hope you like the ocean surf,
I hope you like the autumn leaves,
I hope you like the snow,
if three things of your own you'd tell,
would you say it so?

Wow! That was really good! I liked the subject matter (I thought the three things you would tell someone to do was a really neat idea!) , the descriptions of the Ocean, snow, and autumn leaves made me feel like I was almost there in the poem! Nice job keep writing!
