Welcome to the Creative Writing Club! We have lots of fun here, but in order to make sure everyone enjoys their experience, we need to have a few rules.

1. General Conduct: Only one account per person is allowed. Respect the Moderators, Admins, other members and guidelines of this community. Flaming, insulting, or harassing other members is unacceptable. Debates and other issues should be handled in a civil, mature manner.

2. Personal Issues: If you're going to fight with someone, take it to Private Messaging or somewhere off the boards. Personal threads are fine when relevant to the community or asking for advice, but please do not make blog-type threads.

Arrow For your personal safety, do not post your full name, phone number(s), email address, physical address, or the name of your school. Please do not use your full name as your screen-name. Your screen-name should not contain any other personal information, such as your birthplace, hometown, or email.
If an administrator feels that your screen-name is inappropriate or that it contains personal information, your screen-name will be changed and you will be notified by email of the change.

3. Criticism: When posting a review of someone's work, keep it constructive. Telling a member "You're a horrible writer" or "You've got no talent" is just rude and uncalled for. There is a difference between giving honest critiques--which are perfectly welcome--and just being a jerk.

4. Spam: Avoid spamming (i.e.: irrelevant posts, linking to sites unrelated to writing or literature, repeat posting of identical material, etc.) or posting off-topic threads. If you post in the wrong category, don't be surprised if a moderator moves your post. We have a feature called "edit post" so please try to use that rather than triple/quadruple posting. If you notice someone spamming in a thread, please send one of the moderators a PM and they will take care of it.

5. Inappropriate Content: Racism, profanity, hate speech, and sexual/pornographic content is not allowed. Do not link to or post about gambling or malware sites; such links will be removed and the account will be suspended. Please do not post images which contain nudity or extreme gore. The moderators have the final say on whether or not an image or link is appropriate. In addition, unlawful conduct on the boards is not permitted, including (but not limited to) offering or requesting illegal downloads of games/music/movies/software.

6. Inappropriate Conduct: Scamming and phishing is not tolerated. If anyone asks for your email address or password, you should report them to a Moderator or Administrator immediately. Anyone involved in scamming or phishing activities will be banned.

7. Signatures: Signature images must not exceed 500 pixels in width or 200 pixels in height. Please be courteous to others by not 'stretching out' the threads; if your signature is too large, a moderator will PM you asking you to re-size it, or it may be deleted without warning.

8. Text: As much as possible, please try to type properly without overuse of net speak, random capitalization, etc (ex: "i rOtE tHiSs StOrIe YeStErDayY, pLz TeL mE wAt U tHinK") Correct spelling and grammar is appreciated to aid in readability of your posts, especially considering that maybe not everyone's first language is English.

9. Two-Person Conversations: Avoid using the boards as an instant messenger service. If you're engaged in a conversation with one or more other people, which isn't relevant to the general community, continue it through PM instead.

Possible consequences for inappropriate content, flaming, spamming or otherwise violating these rules:
1. Warning
2. Temporary Ban (3-7 days)
3. Permanent Ban

If another user or even a moderator is sending you abusive, inappropriate, or spam-type Personal Messages, please alert one of the administrators right away.
Possible consequences for misusing PMing privileges:
1. Warning
2. PMing ability temporarily revoked
3. Temporary (and eventually Permanent) Ban
